Valle del Sur Art Guild (VDS) is California's South Silicon Valley premier association of visual artists active in southern Santa Clara County, including South San Jose, Morgan Hill, San Martin, Gilroy and neighboring coastal communities.

We started back in 1974 with a handful of artists when the Silicon Valley was in its infancy. At that time the area was still primarily a farming community. Soon technology companies began sprouting among the orchards and row crops and the area soon became known as the tech center of the U.S. Throughout the years VDS has also morphed and changed as much as its surroundings.

As we look back at the rich history of VDS we are reminded of the important role played bringing art to the south Silicon Valley for all these past decades. We fondly remember the pioneers who planted this rich art culture in south San Jose, Morgan Hill, San Martin, and Gilroy. We thank all those who have kept alive the artistic vision through the continuing efforts of current members.

Valle del Sur core goals:

- To encourage community members to appreciate and enjoy the visual arts.
- To provide opportunities for visual arts education for both the public and local artists.
- To encourage exhibition opportunities for visual artists.

Founded in 1974, the organization continues to hold exhibition, demonstration and training events throughout the year. Meetings are always free and open to the public. You do not have to be a VDS member to attend a VDS meeting or event. However, in order to have voting privileges, you must be a member.

Valle del Sur (VDS) is a 501.c.3 non-profit organization based in the southern Silicon Valley region of California. It is dedicated to the encouragement of the visual arts in its local area.
