Philosophy: Enjoy painting. Learn by hard work and from observing the works of famous painters and friends. Strive always to take my art to another level. My works focus on things of beauty and capturing moments in time close up.
History: I was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii and attended the University of Hawaii, College of Nursing, and minored in Fine Arts. After two years, I left the university and was hired as a flight attendant with Pan American Airlines. I flew the Round-the-World Flights to Asia, Middle East and Europe for four years and got to see many different countries and to experience their cultures.
I loved drawing from an early age and continued my interest in art by taking college art classes in the Bay Area and working full time with two children. After retiring from work in 2005, I joined Gallery Morgan Hill and began to paint regularly in the oil medium. In 2006 I took first place for my painting of Anderson Lake in the Fall Open Juried Show sponsored by Gallery Morgan Hill and received other ribbons from the Santa Clara County Fair and Valle del Sur Art Guild.
My current focus is painting in oil subjects which include local views and California landscapes. Current works can be viewed at the Salinas Valley Art Gallery, 218 Main Street, Salinas, CA.
