Paint Outs

A Paint-out is also known as painting en plein air, or "in the open air." Valle del Sur's paint-outs are open to all adults wanting to join at scheduled locations for a day of creating art in nature.

  • Paint-outs usually begin at 9am and we usually paint until noon.
  • We will paint on the 4th Thursday. Special Paint-outs will be announced from time to time.

We will have two themes for 2017.

  • Wildflowers
Because of the abundance of rain, the wildflowers in our local parks should be spectacular but their season will be short. We will have a special series of paints to paint wildflowers from late March thru mid May.
  • Modern Morgan Hill
Our monthly paintouts will then focus on a loose theme of contemporary local scenes of Morgan Hill activities and life.
Subject matter can be anything in contemporary Morgan Hill. It can include the newer city buildings and sites and "modern" downtown. Please do not try to create Architectural Renderings of buildings, but rather interpret parts of the buildings and local activities that reflect our modern lives. Paint sites have been chosen which provide a variety of vistas, activities and subject matter.
