VDS Paints the Uvas Creek Watershed in 2012: This year is the last of three years during which we will explore the watersheds of the three main creeks of our south valley. In 2010 we painted along Llagas Creek. In 2011 we painted along Coyote Creek. This year we will paint along Coyote Creek and Uvas Creek. Coyote Creek flows north to the San Francisco Bay, while Llagas and Uvas flow southerly into the Pajaro River and to Monterey Bay. Click here for Map showing watersheds. PaintOuts begin at 9am and we usually paint until noon. We will paint on the first Thursday and/or 3rd Saturdays. Special PaintOuts will be announced from time to time. Coyote Creek Watershed: Hellyer County Park
A large pond sits nestled next to the freeway in this county park. You can park right next to the pond for easy painting with San Jose hills in the background. County Park Fee. Uvas Headwaters Uvas Canyon County Park
You pick: paint or photograph shaded trails, bay trees, waterfalls and banana slugs. From Bailey Road travel 6 miles south on McKean/Uvas Road and turn right onto Croy Road.
